The Be Your Own Boss event is aimed at entrepreneurs looking to take their first steps towards starting a new business. You will get some excellent advice, have a chance to meet some experts who can help you and be able to network with other like-minded individuals.
This event is for you if you are still at the business planning stage, or are about to launch a new business, or perhaps you have already started and are in the first six months of trading and want some help and guidance.

Adrian Hawkins OBE
Adrian will give a presentation on the art of the possible in starting a company. Having been born and raised in a council-owned estate in Stevenage, he founded innovative advanced manufacturing firm Weldability SIF in Stevenage in 1980.
Adrian is also the chair and founder of biz4Biz and chair of the Stevenage Development Board, which is overseeing the regeneration of the town, and chair of the Herts LEP Skills and Employment Board working with local FE colleges and the University of Hertfordshire.
Steve Saunders
Steve is one of Hertfordshire’s leading small business coaches and a biz4Biz Associate. Steve works with small business owners in their businesses.
Steve’s short presentation is called The 6 Steps to Building a Business – a proven and progressive, step-by-step approach that helps clarify company objectives and produces consistent profits over time.
